What Size Screen Do You Need for Your Room?
Two measurements decide screen size: how far back the last row sits, and how high your ceiling is.
Measure the back row, not the room
The useful number is the distance from the screen to the furthest viewer. For slide content with body text, aim for a screen height of at least one sixth of that distance. For video-only content you can go smaller; for dense spreadsheets, go bigger.

Check the ceiling before you commit
A 200" 16:9 screen is roughly 4.4 m wide and 2.5 m tall before you add the frame and legs. Many Singapore function rooms have ceilings around 2.7 m to 3 m, which quietly caps your maximum screen size.
The bottom of the image also needs to clear the heads of the front rows — plan for at least 1 m from floor to image bottom in a seated audience.
Aspect ratio matters as much as size
- ▸16:9 suits most presentations, video, and modern laptops.
- ▸16:10 shows more of a standard slide deck without letterboxing on some projectors.
- ▸Ultra-wide LED walls look striking but need content built for that exact pixel size.
